Born in the Loire Valley to a family of vignerons, Olivier has clearly found a home in the Roussillon, just over the border from Catalonia. In the village of Calce, he farms Grenache of all different colors, plus some local grapes like Macabeu. Mon P'tit Pithon Blanc is a blend of mostly Macabeu, with a bit each of Grenache Gris and Grenache blanc. From soils of limestone and clay, and farmed biodynamically, this is richly textured and savory, with a firm mineral backbone. We're a sucker for the Côtes Catalanes in general (see above) and this producer is one of the finest we've tasted in some time.
